PACIFIC SCIENCE CENTER CAMP IN. IT WAS GREAT FUN. Click on each picture for a larger view.

Christine and I went on our first ever overnight trip just the two of us. We have been to the Pacific Science Center, but not to stay overnight. Kids from all over came to spend the night and have some fun. Moms, dads, church groups and schools. We didn't go with a group so we didn't know anyone. Didn't matter though because we had soooooo much fun. They have been doing camp ins for 18 years and can have up to 540 people at each camp in. I just heard about it a few months ago. The camp in staff were great. They encouraged the kids to be as loud as they could during the laser show and were always eager to help. One boy sitting next to us at the laser show kept saying, "dude that's tight." I thought it was so funny. I don't hear things like that since I don't have boys. All the kids went crazy. They loved it. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. and had free time until the workshop. "Get over it, bridges." The kids learned a lot about bridges and so did I. When it was over around 9:00 p.m. we had more free time. At 11:30 they directed everyone to their designated sleeping area and at 12:00 a.m. "lights out." I couldnt' believe how silent it became when the lights went out. Tired kids, and up past their bedtime I'm sure. Everyone slept all over the place on the floor. At 6:00 a.m. I heard a faint voice over the speakers saying, "time to get up and pack your things." Everyone just slept through it. Then they played music at a very low volume, but it wasn't long before it was blaring. Nope, we couldn't sleep through that. So morning was breakfast, laser show and Imax Theater. Everyone had to be out by 9:30 so they could open to the general public at 10:00. We took our things to the car and went back in. We hadn't seen everything we wanted to. "Game On" is the newest exhibit at the Science Center. Over one hundred video games from 1972 to today. We don't play video games so we browsed around and looked at them. Christine did play two games of Ms. Pacman. One of the young guys working that night told Christine and I that the "Game On" exhibit was so cool. He said that it had some great antique video games. Antique? Like Ms. pacman? I played it when I was 15. Geez, I didn't realize that I was an antique. It was cute when he said it. We got to sleep next to the Naked Mole rats. Such sweet little creatures with no hair!?!? We slept under the window. Christine is in the orange sleeping bag. experimenting with paper bridges
