THE B&B DRIVE IN - SOAP LAKE

We went to visit my mom at the end of August. Every few trips we go to the B&B for lunch. I started working there when I was 14 years old. For such a small town it was busy all Summer long. It's been repainted on the outside, but that's about all that's changed in 24 Years! The girls that work there are usually teenagers. I think it's so cool that the phones you use to place your order are still there along with the original menu. I liked working there, but I missed hanging out with my friends. I was scheduled to work on the 4th of July for three years in a row. I was always hoping to get just one 4th of July off. My friends would come in and order something and then head for the beach to watch the fireworks. They would say "see ya after work." Yeah, and after the fireworks were over. My friend Becky came up every Summer and spent a few weeks at my house. She hung out with my friends while I was working. I missed not being able to spend more time with her. I was trying to remember what my pay was, and I'm thinking it was like $2.50 - $3.00 an hour. $3.00 is probably pushing it. I also think it's cool that they still have their original sign. Ahhh the memories. Oh, and when you lift the receiver to place your order it makes a buzzing sound behind the counter where the girls work. Some of you have been there so you know what I mean. It's just so loud and obnoxious. If any of you are ever in Soap Lake when I'm there visiting, I'll take you out to lunch. Have a super day!
